This class we're talking about QR Codes! We've all seen them but let's unlock the power of QR Codes at a trade show!

In today’s fast-paced conference environment, engaging attendees effectively is more important than ever. QR codes provide a seamless way for visitors to access digital content, interact with your brand, and stay connected long after the event is over.

One of the best ways to use QR codes at your trade show booth is to link them to product-specific landing pages on your website. Instead of handing out printed brochures, attendees can scan a code and instantly view detailed product descriptions, pricing, features, and customer testimonials. 

Networking is a crucial part of any trade show. Instead of relying on traditional business cards, a QR code can be used to instantly share contact details. By scanning the code, attendees can download your vCard directly to their phone, connect with your business on LinkedIn, or subscribe to your email newsletter for ongoing engagement.

Everyone loves an incredible deal! Using QR codes to direct visitors to exclusive event-only promos, discounts, or giveaways encourages more engagement at your booth. 

A QR code linked to a quick survey - engage attendees with interactive content, and show customers that their opinions matter. If you use a CRM investigate it's lead capture abilities. A QR Code to a sign-up page could send the information directly to your CRM. 

QR codes aren’t just for information—they can also be used to create immersive experiences. You can also direct them to video testimonials from satisfied customers or past projects. Maybe a recorded presentation that extends beyond the booth like a walkthrough of your factory or the steps of production.

NOTE:  As with everything digital there are some scams out there.

A QR code points to a web address. Here’s our website https://experienceexhibits.ca

  1. Person scans code → Person gets sent to https://experienceexhibits.ca

Some websites that generate QR codes are 100% free. Some make you sign up and offer a "free trial" to get the QR code. With these the QR sends you to their website first, then it redirects you back to actual website. It works like this:

  1. Person scans code  → Person gets sent to www.RipoffArtist.scam 
  2. www.RipoffArtist.scam redirects the person to https://experienceexhibits.ca

It happens in milliseconds, a quick redirect that you probably won't notice. It's not a virus or anything like that but when the trial ends, if you don't pay them a subscription fee that QR code will be cancelled and expired.

If you’re doing this yourself make sure to do some research about which websites to use. If you have a graphic designer that you work with, all Adobe graphics software products have a safe QR code generator.
